Who chiropractic care can help
We work with people of all ages, whether your discomfort appeared suddenly or has been with you for years. Conditions we treat include:
- Back pain
- Neck discomfort
- Headaches
- Pinched nerves
- Sciatic pain
- Joint stiffness
We see both chronic and acute conditions, and every treatment and recovery plan is tailored to the person in front of us.
What chiropractic adjustments are
Adjustments are specific, gentle, hands-on treatments that involve a short, quick thrust at the joint to help increase mobility and movement. Depending on what your body needs, your care may also draw on soft tissue therapies, medical acupuncture, or exercise and rehab to improve functional activity and strength and help your body manage pain.
What to expect at your first visit
Your first appointment starts with a conversation to learn more about you. We take a full history and assess how you move, then explain what we think is going on and talk through your options before we begin treatment.
From there, we build a recovery plan tailored to you. Your individual strengths and weaknesses affect how you recover, so understanding the severity of any underlying condition helps us plan your care properly. Once we’ve agreed on a plan of care together, your first treatment session is typically included in your initial assessment visit.
Who provides your care
Chiropractic care at Westside is provided by Dr. Emily Maranger and Dr. Cole Maranger. Both are evidence-based chiropractors and graduates of CMCC, and both were certified in contemporary medical acupuncture through McMaster University. They offer spinal and extremity adjusting along with soft tissue therapies. You can read more about them on our About page.
